Unmatched in Performance

Our French division, YORK Neige, has continued to push the envelope with research and development. There’s not a company in our industry that invests more money or resources than YORK in snowmaking R & D. Our latest product release is a new generation of tower gun called the Safyr (Sapphire).

The Safyr is a low energy, high volume snow producer with performance characteristics that are off the charts. At the marginal wet bulb temp of 27ºF / -3ºC, the Sapphire will convert 25 GPM of water to snow. As the temps drop the gun will achieve huge flows, topping out at 220 GPM. Throughout the performance curve, the airflow remains fixed at a nominal 40 CFM. What’s also unique is the Sapphire’s ability to adjust the size of the water droplets; we call it a variable particle generator. Bigger droplets mean less drift, reduced evaporative loss, and increased volume.
