Safyr: Ultimate Park & Pipe Tool
The Ultimate Park & Pipe Tool
Our R & D team in France hit a homerun with the Safyr (Sapphire). This gun is all about disruptive technology and will forever change your snowmaking plans. With an air to water ratio reaching .20, it doesn't take long to figure out why the Safyr is ideal for your terrain parks.
Consider the upside of opening your terrain park and your pipe before Christmas. Not to mention doing it for an affordable price and in marginal conditions.
We all know that the snowboarders and park & pipe skiers are the die hard early and late season customers that keep the lifts turning--these guys and gals aren't your fair weather customers that only step into their bindings Christmas, MLK, or President's day. This is the customer that pays for a lift ticket when limited terrain is open--and they'll bring their friends. A good park is like the field of dreams; "if you build it, they will come." But you have to build it early and you have to build it right. The Safyr will help you get there.
How you ask? At the marginal wet bulb temp of 27ºF / -3ºC, the Sapphire will convert 25 GPM of water to snow. As the temps drop the gun will achieve huge flows, reaching flow rates up to 220 GPM. Throughout the performance curve, the airflow remains fixed at a nominal 40 CFM. That's worth repeating. The air flow is fixed at 40 CFM. Compare that to the ground guns that your park crew drags out to the pipe that burn 450 CFM.
The beauty of the Safyr is that you can operate 10 of these guns in your park, or any high demand area for that matter, and not even impact your air plant. At 20 F wet bulb you'll be flowing 600 GPM and using only 400 CFM. As the temp gets closer to the single digits, you'll be hammering your park with 2,000 GPM with 10 guns and 400 CFM. Your park crew will love you. This gives operators the advantage of getting on the park early and the flexibility of diverting the balance of your air to concentrate on your standard opening routes.
What’s also unique to the Sapphire is its ability to adjust the size of the water droplets; we call it a variable particle generator. Bigger droplets mean less drift, reduced evaporative loss, and increased volume.
The Sapphire can be run with hill air or an on-board compressor, or to get the most bang for your buck--hook it up to a YORK Automatic Network. With big flows and minimal air consumption, it’s the perfect gun for parks and pipes.
